Brian
Duane started in the construction business at an early age. His father "Red" worked for the highway department in Dunnell, and then worked after hours doing construction. In the 1970s, when Duane was in high school, he was also helping with the business. He began working full-time at the highway department in Fairmont upon his graduation in 1976. In 1983, shortly after Red retired from the highway department, Duane and Red decided to take the construction company to full-time, and they worked building the business together until Red's untimely death in 1989. Duane then continued building the business by himself. However, when the children were old enough to go along, they were on the job sites helping whenever they could, and the business has grown by leaps and bounds throughout the years.
It's hard to say exactly when Brian joined the Rosburg Construction team, as it seems he has been part of the business all his life. This guy knows how to run equipment! His talents don't stop there, however, as he is also skilled at landscaping and design, and has been a pilot for over a decade. If you look skyward, you just may see him in the air flying with the boys, or in his recently-purchased crop-dusting plane. Brian is also part of the local volunteer fire department, in addition to being a busy father of two boys, grades 10 and 7. When they aren't working, at school events, or keeping busy on their various projects, there is always something to do on the acreage. You won't see them sitting still very often, and that's just the way they like it!
Without a doubt, we know Red would be so proud that the business he began thrives today.
He's be especially thrilled to know his grandchildren and great-grandchildren are involved with it, too!

Behind the Scenes...

PictureLisa
When Lisa and Duane met back in 1982, she did not even know what a backhoe was. They met at the local print shop when she took his order for business cards. That was in April, and wedding bells rang in November of the same year. At that time, Duane and his dad "Red" were partners in the business. While Lisa has always worked full-time for other businesses, she has been active over the years behind the scenes; most recently taking the bookkeeping position again. You may also find her driving behind a piece of equipment when moving from one site to another. When not working, you will most likely find her involved with the grandchildren's school activities or enjoying quiet time at home. Lisa developed a love for traveling through her daughter, and has been on three-generation trips to Alaska and Poland with her mother and daughter. In addition, Duane and Lisa have done some traveling throughout the States and abroad. In 2018, they took the trip of a lifetime to Kenya with their 14-year-old grandson. Hopefully, the other grandchildren will get a vacation experience with grandma & grandpa, too!

PictureStephanie
Stephanie started out on her dad's lap learning to run equipment as a young child. She's not afraid to get dirty when she needs to, or be in the office helping with bookwork, or putting her creative talents to work with the website. Stephanie currently lives in Sioux Falls, SD with her two Polish cats, Marty & Simon. (Yes, they flew back from Poland with her!) She is currently pursuing her BSN degree, as well as working for the State of SD in the health care area, and also working part-time at a Christian counseling office. The work ethic of the generations before her runs deep in her veins! Previously, Stephanie taught middle and high school students in the St. Louis, MO area, and also for two years while living abroad in Cziesyn, Poland. She also previously worked at a bank operations center in Sioux Falls, before deciding to pursue a nursing career. She loves to travel, and has been to several countries including Lebanon, Japan, Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Poland, and the Ukraine. Stephanie says the next countries to visit on her bucket list are Australia and New Zealand.

Matt and his four children  (ages 13 to 18) currently reside in Sioux Falls, but he has been known to come home for a visit, only to end up in the field fixing a water main break throughout the night, or helping on other projects. Just like his two younger siblings, he also spent a good deal of time on the job site over the years. Matt's schooling took him other directions than construction, as he has spent a majority of his time in the health field. He has worked as a paramedic, for the American Red Cross, Avera, Lions Eye Bank, Plasma Center, and EMSI doing wellness clinics and health exams throughout the States. He also has a passion for public service and is currently running for SD District 15 House of Representatives. When he's not busy doing that or running with kids' activities, you may find him driving for Lyft/Uber in his decked-out van in the Sioux Falls area. During the colder months, you can spot him in his bright orange, reflective Rosburg Construction jacket!

The newest member of the Rosburg Construction family is "Arya." It will be no small feat following in the footsteps of beloved shop dog, Raya, who we lost in a fire October 2018. But the future looks promising with this new sweetie!
